and ;-@ means?

Seriously, what the heck does ;-@ mean?  I got this emoticon via text from a guy…after a date…that went OK.  I’m all for the :) or ;) or even a :( in a text, email, IM, tweet, status update (am I missing anything?) but this random emoticon seems downright perplexing. I have no idea how to decipher that.  And maybe I’m being a lil harsh (judgey – oh yes!) but if a guy can’t be straight foward with his emoticons…what makes me think he’ll be emotionally OK in person?

Now I’m absolutely 100% guilty of over-emoting.  I frequently find myself deleting smiley faces out of emails – especially day-job emails.  In person I am an aminated communicator.  I over-emot.  I’m a hand-waving, finger-snapping, lip-biting (mine) and eyebrow raising communicator.   I love non-verbal communication.  I have a log of hip sways, wrist turns, arches and foot positions to clue anyone into what the non-verbals are saying.  Non-verbal communication is more telling sometimes than actual words. We can lie with our words easier than we can with our body language.  I read this blog post yesterday from fellow Galavanting News & Reviews contributor Chelsea.  And I agree with her. 3D communication is better…because then all our senses are working together to understand  this thing we call interpersonal relationships.  2D you can only go off so much and it’s hard to figure out.

As for the date?  He called.  and I raised my rogue eyebrow as I hit ‘silence ringer’.
