A friend called me snarky yesterday. I was pretty sure it was a compliment. I feel like I know what snarky means, but used the google anyway and found the the first listing to be the urban dictionary.
entry 1:
snarky: a word that should be googled to find the definition per direction from Dane Cook. It means short tempered or irritable.
“He was being very snarky with me. Yeah, snarky. It’s a word, google it.” – Dane Cook
ha. it’s like this post was meant-to-be.
Google provided all sorts of other definitions – my personal favorites included the words “wit” and “clever”. My friend and I were at Ravinia watching a concert (Carrie Underwood!) and I was relaying a story from the past weekend – friends and I were out at a bar and a rather intoxicated guy was buzzing around my table. He shared with me had been laid off work and had been drinking all day. And as happens in a drunken stupor, he misinterpreted my listening to him with me wanting him and he made several passes at me. I told my friend as if him being imbibed wasn’t enough, that he also smelled like broccoli and who wants to kiss broccoli. Not only did my friend laugh, but the girl sitting in front of us turned around to tell me how hysterical I was.
hysterical and snarky.
