are you following me at sea?

By Shanna, November 9, 2009 12:10 am

First full day of the Princess Cruise “Twitter Press Trip” is over.

I will admit I’m surprised and delighted I haven’t puked my guts out yet. We are following behind Hurricane / Tropical Storm Ida so the sea is a bit rough. If you haven’t cruised before but taken overnight train trips – it sorta feel similar (sorta). We docked in the Bahamas and it was a beach. I wasn’t overly impressed but the water was nice, the drinks were flowing and the sun was shining.

My favorite part of today was my hot stone massage. wow. I had no idea how amazing that was going to be! Not surprisingly my masseuses said I was the tensest / tightest person she has massaged…yah. I decided to sign up later in the week for a seaweed wrap….figure why the heck not?

Tomorrow a full day on a hopefully calmer sea!

I got a smile on my face

By Shanna, October 20, 2009 1:06 pm

I was on my way home yesterday and I was so happy and giddy about all the Galavanting projects I’m involved in that I had to force myself to remain stotic –as normally outbursts of giggling and happiness are not normal on any bus, but especially on the express bus. But it got me thinkin’ about everyone else riding along LSD with me, I wondered what they were happy about, what smirks and smiles they were keeping in so as not to look too oddball on the bus.

adding another heaping pile on my plate

By Shanna, October 13, 2009 8:37 pm

I love, love, love working with Galavanting — I’m excited to see that over the past year my responsibilities and involvement have increased. The more I get involved with writing and editing, the more I realize my need to improve, take-it-up-a-notch (or a few). I’m confident in my understanding of the language but my typing is lazy.

If you know me even a little, you know that I also xoxo Chicago and I’m thrilled to bits to start writing regularly for Gapers Block. I officially got the welcome email today, which means the pressure is on to start really performing in my writing. Kinda scary. I’m not even sure if I have a defined voice yet as writer —should I be admitting this? maybe not, but if I’m anything I’m honest.

I already have a listing of posts I want to write…now if only I can figure out Moveable Type.
