maybe next time
We say things to make ourselves feel better. To ease a little pain. To get through it, over it -or with it. It might be harsh to calls these lies (and we all know lying is bad) but are lies OK when we have to tell them to ourself?
Why do we tells ourself I did the best I could, it’s not my fault she/he/it is incompetent when that really means that the bare minumum usually got you by and this time it didn’t but it’s easier to blame someone else.
Or I’m amazing and most people are amazing but not to everyone…and not all the time. Anyone who says this is really trying to tell you how to feel about them because they think you don’t already feel that way.
I’m a catch – why am I single and everyone agrees …probably because it’s too hard to tell someone they aren’t taking enough control (or have too much control) in that department.
I’m just thankful I have a job right now – oh screw that. Just because there is a recession, an economic downturn, or whatever it’s being labeled doesn’t mean you have to stop searching for a job you’re going to love. It’s a cop-out to not looking for a new job because you’re scared. And it’s that why we all lie – cuz we’re scared what we’ll have to do if we tell the truth?
I lie to myself everyday mostly…do you?
